Nine Arches Bridge
Description

The Nine Arches Bridge, also known as the Bridge in the Sky, is one of Sri Lanka's most iconic landmarks. Built during the British colonial era between 1919 and 1921, this magnificent viaduct stands 24 metres high and 91 metres long, constructed entirely of stone, brick, and cement without a single piece of steel. Located near Ella in the hill country, the bridge is surrounded by lush tea plantations, forests, and misty mountains. Visitors can hike to the bridge along jungle trails, and the best time to visit is when the blue train chugs slowly across the arch ? a picture-perfect moment.
